"Active in troop and patrol" Requirement

Continued discussing this requirement.  Decided to keep the 75% of meetings and 50% of outings requirement, but added some flexibility at the descression of the SM to take other activities such as participating in service projects, etc. into account.

Also decided to allow some grace period for the current rank.

John is to email message to parents & make another announcement at the next meeting.

Current meetings

We will recommend to the PLC that the older scout programs not necessarily be geared towards completing a merit badge, but rather teaching skills.  It is too difficult and takes too long to get a large number of boys to work on a single merit badge all at one time in 20 minute chunks. 

Recommend going back to sticking to the Themes identified by the PLC and have the programs focus on those.

Will use the program time  for the older scouts during the next meeting to brainstorm on programs, outings and games that can be used next fall. To be led by Bill Pauer.

Jeff Holland will deliver the program for the 2nd Class and below scouts - Communications and playing the communications game with dominoes.

Recommended that we remove the patrol corners for the next two meetings and probably meetings that aren't before a camping trip.

7:45 - 8:15 Game

John will try to make arrangements to bring a firetruck/rescue vehicle for the program on 5/26.

John may be late to the 5/19 meeting - traveling from Raleigh.

Jeff Holland will make ballots for the nominations.
